    Eligibility: Applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident who has completed their undergraduate education by the start of their project in Scandinavia. Applicant must have a well-defined research or study project that makes a stay in Scandinavia essential and should have some ability in the language of the host country. First priority will be given to an applicant who has not previously received an ASF award.

  • Rackham International Research Awards

    Amount: Up to $10,000

    Eligibility: Applicants must have a very strong academic record and demonstrate outstanding scholarly and professional promise. Students must have the language and other skills necessary to complete the proposed research, as well as a feasible plan and timetable.

    Eligibility: Applicants must be Rackham doctoral students. Students must be in good academic standing and have completed at least one term in a Rackham doctoral degree program. Applicants must submit a Recommendation Letter, Statement of Purpose and Budget Information with detailed itemization of all expenses and all other sources of support, pending and confirmed.

  • Student Translation Award
    Deadline: July 31
    Amount: $500 plus $500 for conference

    Sponsor: American Translators Association

    Eligibility: Applicants must be graduate or undergraduate students or a group of students attending an accredited U.S. college or university. The project should have post-grant results such as a publication, conference presentation or teaching material. Computer-assisted translations, dissertations and theses are not eligible, and students who are already published translators are not eligible. Translations must be from a foreign language into English. Preference is given to students who have been or are currently enrolled in translator training programs. There is a limit of one entry per student. Applicants should submit entry forms, statements of purpose, letter of recommendation, translation sample with corresponding source-language text, proof of permission to publish from copyright holder and sample outline or other material demonstrating the nature of the work (if the project is not a translation).
