    Eligibility: Applicants must demonstrate outstanding service in community, church and school and must be at least 15 years of age, in high school and either members of a troop chartered by the American Legion/Auxiliary or sons or grandsons of members of the American Legion/Auxiliary. Students must have received the Eagle Scout Award as well as the Boy Scout religious emblem. Scholarships may be used to attend a state-accredited college, university or other school above the high school level.

    How to apply: Applications are available from the local Legion Post or from the Wisconsin American Legion Headquarters.

  • Emmett J. Doerr Memorial Scout Scholarship
    Deadline: March 1
    Amount: Up to $5,000

    Eligibility: Applicants must be practicing Catholics and full-time high school seniors who hold a leadership role in their scouting unit and are actively involved with a Scout Troop, Varsity Scout Team, Venturing Crew or Sea Scout Ship. Students must have provided service to their community, school, scouting and home parish and earned the Ad Altare Dei, Pope Pius XII Religious Award or Light is Life (Eastern Rite) Religious Emblem. Applicants must also have earned the Eagle Scout, Summit Award or Quartermaster Award.

    How to apply: Applications are available online. An application form, official high school transcript, four letters of recommendation and a photo are required.

    Eligibility: Applicants must be high school seniors at an accredited high school or college freshmen if their Eagle Scout board of review was held the same year of their high school graduation. Applicants must have received the Ner Tamid or Etz Chaim religious emblem and must show practical citizenship in their school, Scouting unit, synagogue and community.
