    Eligibility: Applicants must be high school seniors or college undergraduates planning to major in American history and American government. A minimum 3.25 GPA is required. The award is up to $2,000 each year for up to four years. All applicants must obtain a letter of sponsorship from their local DAR chapter. However, affiliation with DAR is not required.

    How to apply: Applications are available by written request with a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

    Eligibility: Applicants must be graduate students who have completed their Ph.D. or doctoral candidates conducting research or writing their dissertation. Areas of study include material culture studies, social and cultural history, art history. literary studies, American studies, design history, the decorative arts, landscape architecture and design, consumer culture, and conservation studies. Selection is based on the research project's suitability to Winterthur's collections and the strength of the overall application.
