  • American Legion Department of Arkansas High School Oratorical Scholarship Program

    Eligibility: Applicants must be high school students under the age of 20 who are U.S. citizens or legal residents and residents of the state. Students first give an oration within their state and winners compete at the national level. The oration must be related to the Constitution of the United States focusing on the duties and obligations citizens have to the government. It must be in English and be between eight and ten minutes. There is also an assigned topic which is posted on the website, and it should be between three and five minutes.

  • Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Conservation Scholarship
    Deadline: June 15
    Amount: Up to $2,000 per semester

    Eligibility: Applicants must be Arkansas residents who are high school seniors or undergraduate or graduate-level college students. They must have a GPA of 2.5 or above and must be planning to pursue a career in natural resources conservation. They cannot have received full scholarship or grant funding from another source. Selection is based on the standardized scoring of each application as a whole.

    How to apply: Applications are available online. An application form, personal statement, essay, official transcript, three personal references, one recommendation letter, photograph and statement of intent to pursue a four-year degree (for those currently attending a two-year institution) are required.

    Eligibility: Students must be high school seniors and currently bowling in a USBC Certified Youth League. Students must reside in a Southern Bowling Congress member state which includes Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas. Applicants must have bowled in a USBC Certified Youth League three of four years in high school and have bowled 75 percent of the league schedule. Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and achieved an ACT composite score of 20 or SAT composite score of 1410.

An application form, official high school grade and credits transcript with a minimum of six semesters of information that includes ACT and/or SAT scores and a personal letter of recommendation from high school principal or counselor are required.
